About This Role

Summary of the role

Play a key monitoring/oversight role for key accounts (currently split geographically) to ensure that Diligenta and the regulatory services it provides its customers are compliant with FCA rules, requirements and principles.
The accounts are Aviva/Sun Life of Canada/ Phoenix/.Prudential M&G and LBG Scottish Widows
This role can be based in Stirling, Edinburgh, Basingstoke or Bristol.

What you will be doing

  • To inform and support the Audit & Compliance Committee, the Executive Management Team and clients on the effectiveness of Diligenta's application of regulatory compliant processes within the business.
  • The annual Compliance Monitoring Risk Universes are developed and, from these, annual risk-based plans are produced and agreed with the relevant client in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Management of compliance staff as necessary in support of the business achieving its key strategic objectives.
  • To manage the delivery of an annual risk-based programme of compliance reviews the "Compliance
    Annual Monitoring Plan" to provide assurance to Diligenta management and the relevant stakeholders/clients, on Diligenta's compliance with regulatory requirements and delivery of compliant customer outcomes, within agreed timescales.
  • To manage the relevant Compliance Monitoring Team to operate in accordance with Diligenta's Compliance Monitoring Methodology and to meet agreed standards for quality and timeliness; to ensure that appropriate and cost-effective remedial management actions are agreed with relevant colleagues to address reported findings.
  • To contribute to the continuous improvement of Diligenta's Compliance Monitoring Methodology to reflect the changing regulatory environment and to meet agreed client requirements.
  • To ensure optimal performance of the relevant Compliance Monitoring team is achieved through effective leadership, continuous professional development (own and team), effective performance management and staff development.
  • To support the business in ensuring Retail Conduct Risk (including "Treating Customers Fairly" and New Consumer Duty principles) is fully considered, interpreted and implemented by business areas, as necessary.
  • Stakeholder relationships with relevant clients and internal functions are effectively managed.
  • To represent Compliance at relevant internal and external Governance forums and committees, ensuring that regulatory considerations and requirements are understood to enable compliant delivery of objectives.
  • Assist the Head of Compliance in the development of a compliance culture, providing/supporting training & education as necessary.

What we are looking for

  • 6 years in a Compliance role within a Financial Services company.
  • Relevant experience in either a monitoring or business advisory role, with proven team management experience
  • Full FPC or equivalent
  • Level 4 or Compliance Diploma or equivalent
  • Achieved or prepared to study for relevant professional qualifications for specific areas of expertise.
