About This Role

Summary of the role

Transfer Agency Technical Consultants are expected to be experts in Mutual Fund Products, Legislation, Regulations including COLL, COBS, CASS & HMRC ISA Rules, and the processes, systems and platforms used in the administration of the business. They provide technical expertise, coaching and training to Transfer Agency colleagues onshore and offshore, Voice Service Centre and Complaints teams along with supporting LBG Proposition Team on changes to products and regulations. Drive continual improvement to investment processes. They are also responsible for providing specialist technical support on a variety of local and strategic projects/change initiatives, with proactive involvement in the design, development and specification of any new or re-designed products and systems.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide technical expertise, coaching and training to Transfer Agency onshore and offshore operations, VSC and Complaints teams relating to functional and process queries. Personally deal with complex investment issues/queries
  • Ensure the technical sign off of all projects related outputs e.g. business
    requirement documents (RRD and EED's), procedure guides, test scripts, technical briefing material and Q&As etc. for both internal and external project support
  • Build and manage relationships with LBG and other key investment stakeholders. Coordinating Technical Support involvement in projects within the Transfer Agency area and supporting the day-to-day operational relationship with LBG IT and external (3rd party) investment platform supplier to manage investment services
  • Drive continual improvement to investment processes adhering to the current risk/control management strategies. Identify functional and usability defects suggesting solutions/improvements required by the business. Analyse referral trends, provide feedback and implement improvement activity to reduce queries by initiating process changes and/ or providing technical training
  • Proactive involvement in the design, development and specification of user stories for BaNCS Mutual Funds functional requirements, capturing details in EED/RRD documents. Act as senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) for projects ensuring work undertaken is technically compliant and that risks are identified and raised in project risk registers. Assess the impact of change(s) on Customer Service and facilitate necessary changes
  • Participation and involvement in local and strategic projects/change initiatives. Support the delivery of LBG projects for both regulatory or run the bank changes and assess the wider impact on business processes and system solutions. Support migration dress rehearsals (Including In-flight testing, Audit & Reconciliation and Business verification testing). Delivery of show and tell presentations highlighting the development of BaNCS functionality
  • Support BAT testing activity by providing technical knowledge of product and process, contributing to production of Testing Strategy/Plans and providing an escalation point for queries/issues from test team. Completion of Model Office testing, including the development of performance and functional scenarios and identifying/resolution support for any defects

What we're looking for

  • Technical Expertise - Transfer Agency experience essential with Compliance and Legislative awareness. This includes in-depth knowledge of Box Management processes, CASS regulation, HMRC ISA regulations, COBS and COLL rules and their application
  • Recognised expertise with one of BaNCS/Diligenta non-BaNCS core IT systems / Finance and accounting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail, good fact-finding skills and ability to make evaluative judgments based on both quantitative and qualitative information
  • Able to use different techniques to elicit and capture business requirements, understanding which are best suited to a particular need
  • Planning and organisation with ability to self - prioritise workload
  • Understands financial considerations and potential financial impacts of requirements and solutions options
  • Business knowledge - Broad awareness of the Financial Services industry and the regulatory environment
  • General understanding of project methodologies and approaches
  • Understanding of Mutual Funds products, processes and all relevant regulations
  • A systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving
