Summary of the role

As an Operational Controls Team Manager, you will lead and manage the Operational Controls team to deliver consistent and excellent service to analyse, problem solve and develop Operational controls which align to the business strategy, managing recovery of operational loss process control and control process design reviews/testing.

Tracks and reports against key performance measures, engaging key stakeholders to ensure effective closure of exceptions, application and adherence of controls and delivery of good customer outcomes.

What you’ll be doing
  • Oversee Exception analysis, highlighting of trends, exception closure, recovery of debt, control development and control process reviews ensuring planning and tracking is in place through to closure and set milestones.
  • Manage communication and engagement with stakeholders, developing and maintaining strong relationships and working in partnership to understand, identify and resolve problems to benefit operations and provide good customer outcomes.
  • Identify and manage blockages, providing guidance or escalation as necessary to ensure the required engagement and support to minimise disruption or delays for control rectification/management/development
  • Lead Operational Controls team or activity within assigned span of control developing core skills and competencies to maintain a dynamic team of problem resolution expertise and consistency of practice.
  • Plan and monitor resource, skills and delivery of actions to complete assigned activities within the agreed standards for timeliness, accuracy, clarity and financial integrity.
  •  Identify and drive improvements to maximise operational efficiency, employee satisfaction and deliver effective resolution practices.
  • Ensure that the approved framework standards and governance are adhered to at all times.
  • Prepare, interpret and monitor reporting data to inform state of play and performance against key standards.

  • Broad knowledge of Financial Services and the regulatory landscape
  • Strong IT skills across Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to analyse management information effectively

  • Practical experience applying project and change methodologies
