Summary of the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects from initiation through delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project scope, budgets, timelines, risks, and stakeholder relationships while ensuring business objectives are achieved. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive successful outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing

Lead, manage and deliver a project or a workstream within a programme, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget and to scope.
Responsible for shaping and developing the project approach.
Applies and champions the appropriate project management discipline, i.e. planning, resourcing, scheduling, monitoring, reporting and risk, issue and dependency management. This should include effective & timely application of project stages at which lessons learned are captured and built into future plans on an ongoing basis.
Responsibility for distillation of complex information or data in order to get to root issues or see the bigger picture.
Establishes an effective project organisation structure and responsible for project team shaping, building, development, management and motivation.
Responsible for the budget reporting, forecasting and expenditure associated with projects.
Responsible for overall project planning & management of resources required (including well developed contingency plans) to deliver the agreed solutions.
Manages and contributes to the selection of supplier delivery relationships for technical partners, software vendors and contract agencies.
Responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and key customers, ensuring delivery meets requirements.

What we’re looking for

Educated to A level or equivalent experience and/ or relevant Industry qualification
Accredited at Project Management discipline (practitioner level) (e.g. Certified Project Manager, APMP, Prince2 practitioner, ISEB)
Proven experience and ability to influence senior management population
Proven experience of managing relationships with 3rd parties
Previous experience with proven track record of delivery in large technical IT projects / programmes
Expert in Project Management disciplines
Experience of budget management
Ability to lead and develop people effectively
Excellent communication skills
Proficient in use of MS project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint to intermediate level
