About This Role Summary of the role To lead and direct the Specialist Risk Oversight team within the Enterprise Risk function to ensure that Diligenta has effective systems and controls in place to support the effective identification, assessment, management, monitoring and reporting of risks, aligned with regulatory and client expectations, that could impact on Diligenta achieving its strategic objectives. Act as a role model for positive Risk Culture across the business. Please note, as this is a people leadership role the successful applicant will be supported to succeed in their new role through enrolment in the appropriate level of our Diligenta Leadership 'Step' Pathway (subject to eligibility criteria), designed to drive quality and consistency across the organisation. What you’ll be doing To ensure that the Diligenta Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) is implemented and maintained within Diligenta with the appropriate engagement of senior management.To lead a Risk Oversight team, providing the organisation with advice and support towards meeting its strategic objectives in relation to managing the risks to the business and in managing the delegated operational risks of clients.Champion a positive risk culture across the firm and provide support and training as required to achieve this.Develop and deliver allocated elements of the annual Risk Plan considering Client and Diligenta activities, ensuring effort is directed towards the areas of greatest strategic and operational risk and providing flexibility to accommodate areas of new or emerging risk.Lead a team of risk professionals that are able to provide effective oversight and challenge over the key risks that Diligenta faces.Ensure clear and impactful risk opinions are provided to the EMT and senior management and where relevant to clients on key strategic decisions, material changes and other material matters where the risk profile could be impacted by management action or inaction.Maintain effective and open communications with clients’ Risk and Governance functions and ensure all contractual obligations and reasonable requirements and expectations are met in a cost effective and positive manner.Deliver effective oversight over risk events both at a thematic level and for the more material risk events at an event level. Ensure the ERMF in respect of risk events is followed and provide risk opinions on all material risk events. Provide support as required to management in their efforts to establish a timely and effective response to risk events.Identify and promote value-add activities as part of effective risk management to drive improvements and efficiencies in the way Diligenta operates.Play a full and proactive role in the Enterprise Risk leadership team. What we’re looking for At least 10 years’ experience (or equivalent quality experience) of risk management, a large part of which will have been gained within the Financial Services industry (some of which should have been gained within the Life and Pensions sector).Experience influencing at Executive and Board levelPreferred relevant degree or equivalent / extensive business, risk management experience.Commercial acumen, proven people management skills, strong strategic and influencing skills.
