About This Role

Summary of the role

To support the Data Protection Lead and Data Protection Manager in ensuring corporate compliance with Data Protection legislation.
Play a key technical, advisory and influencing role to ensure that Diligenta and the services it provides to its clients are compliant with the Data Protection Act (2018) /UK General Data Protection Regulation Communicate changes in data security and privacy legislation/regulations to the business as part of the corporate regulatory change process.

To support and advise the Risk & Compliance Committee where required, and relevant Compliance Committee, the Executive Management Team, Governance forums and clients on the effectiveness of Data Protection controls.
Implement and maintain Data Protection owned regulatory policies and procedures, and controls across Diligenta. Provide training to senior management and staff as necessary.

To support the delivery of the annual Compliance Plan for Diligenta and its clients, incorporating the Data Protection Plan.
To represent the Data Protection team at internal and external Governance forums and committees, ensuring that regulatory considerations and requirements are understood to enable compliant delivery of objectives.

Prepare and disseminate data protection MI within Diligenta and to clients. Incidents being managed and an absence of any significant, unidentified regulatory breaches that it might reasonably have been expected to identify.
Perceived by internal and external customers as technical experts in role.
No regulatory censure arising from technical support.
Meeting of deadlines for deliverables. Reports produced on time and to required standard.
Auditable records of business monitoring and escalation of issues.

This role can be based in Peterborough, Liverpool, Bristol or Basingstoke.

What we're looking for

• Achieved or prepared to study the CII Data Protection Certificate.
• Specialist technical knowledge in one or more regulated area (e.g. FCA, Data Protection).
• Ability to analyse and evaluate complex regulatory material and propose appropriate actions/solutions to ensure compliance is maintained.
• Sound understanding of regulatory structure and process, regulations and their underlying principles.
• Competent in a similar data protection/compliance role, technical support function, operational role or project.
• Required to build strong relationships with operational business managers, members of the Executive
• Management Team and senior personnel within client organisations.
• Exposure to EMT and client management structures.
