Summary of the role

Delivering good customer outcomes and colleague experience is core to our ‘One Diligenta’ model strategy and is key to building the ‘utility model’.

The role holder will work towards establishing ‘One Diligenta’ way of working across all utilities by enhancing the existing Program management within the Program. The Program Manager will be responsible for delivering good customer outcomes (through the utilities and enabling right utility design), enhance colleague experience, optimise cost of operation for the program and deliver on financial targets set for the program. The financial targets need to be managed through respective utility heads and the accounts. This role will also require working along with senior stakeholders or their deputies (EMT, OLT and Client Partners) across client accounts and various functions.

What you’ll be doing
  • Responsible for defining and evolving the programme strategy, roadmap, and value narrative
  • Bring together inputs across utilities, technology, and business teams to create a unified programme view
  • Ensure objectives, priorities, and outcomes remain aligned to business strategy and regulatory expectations
  • Establish and operationalise the appropriate programme governance framework, including steering group meetings, working groups, and reporting cadences
  • Create and maintain TORs (version controlled) for various governance forums and embed delivery discipline through PMO standards, templates, RAID management, and change controls
  • Coach and support Project Managers on governance adherence and best practices
  • Facilitate onboarding of PMs and workstream leads, ensuring clear understanding of programme structure, governance, ways of working, and expectations
  • Provide ongoing support and act as the first escalation point for delivery queries
  • Define PM goals and manage their performance with oversight and inputs from utility heads
  • Develop clear and compelling stakeholder communications, including leadership updates, executive packs, dashboards, and progress summaries
  • Translate complex programme activity into concise, outcome-driven narratives
  • Engage with Customer Outcomes, Risk, Compliance, Audit, HR, Finance, and Technology to ensure alignment, approvals, and adherence to regulatory, control, and people requirements
  • Lead cross-functional discussions to ensure risks are managed, controls are embedded, and governance is upheld
  • Responsible for regular and ad-hoc reporting done to various stakeholders at multiple levels (directly or through PMS). This will include (but not limited to) reporting to FCA, Board, client, CXOs, account directors, HR, Line 2, IA etc
  • Establish and maintain the benefits realisation framework, including value baselines, measurement methodologies, and tracking mechanisms
  • Define and operationalise programme and operational metrics
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliveries
  • Partner with Finance, MI, and Utility Heads to validate assumptions and report realised value
  • Deliver on the program cost targets
  • Optimise program cost by leveraging technology, effective program management techniques and LSS techniques
  • Collaborate with respective utility head and program’s risk & compliance point of contact to coordinate and orchestrate all audits
  • Enable regular internal checks to enable program to be audit ready at short notice
  • Be point of contact for all audits to channelise and manage flow of additional work
What we’re looking for
  • A degree in a relevant subject or relevant business experience in similar role
  • Ability to develop, manage and lead remote teams in a function operational across multiple locations
  • Effective stakeholder management including director and EMT level
  • Proven relevant experience in a leadership role of within a program
  • Good understanding of Life & Pension business
  • Proven relevant experience in Transformation/ Continuous Improvement and program management
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Strong Analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Proven relevant experience in related work in a similar role within Change Program
  • Setting up, developed and led remote program teams across multiple locations
  • Proven ability to analyse business issues through data and process analysis, identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions
  • Robust data control and governance experience
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
  • Strong financial management with a focus on reducing cost line by effectively leveraging technology and creating optimum and scalable processes
  • Delivering presentations at director level
  • GDPR and associated regulations
  • Third Party and supplier management
  • Client, partnership and affinity management
  • Developing holistic colleague career proposition in collaboration with HR
  • Good colleague management skills to coach and guide PMs and other colleagues in the team
