About This Role

Summary of the role
 
This role is within the Cash Management Team for the Life and Pensions business, which is responsible for processing all money in and money out transactions within agreed SLAs and in line with regulatory and Client requirements, ensuring that all transactions are correctly processed and recorded in a timely manner.
 
What you'll be doing
  • Key all incoming monies into BaNCS within agreed SLAs and in line with regulatory and Client requirements.
  • Process all outgoing manual payments (CHAPS & Foreign Transfers) to our longstanding customers with accuracy ensuring appropriate sign-off has been obtained.
  • Ensure all automated payments are approved with correct dates and information that matches system reports by checking correct dates are keyed for Direct Debit collections and outgoing BACS payments.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure their accuracy and demonstrating an effective level of control, within agreed SLAs and in line with Client Standards.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve any failed and rejected payments, bounced and out of date cheques, stopped and reissued cheques, as well as perform payment-tracing activities.
  • Provide payment or receipt-related reports and information to customers/Client within agreed timescales.
  • Prepare and input manual journals where required.
  • Perform any adhoc administrative tasks to a high standard, within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure all tasks and activities performed adhere to the Consumer Duty regulations.
What we're looking for
  • Advanced in MS Excel and Word.
  • High levels of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing own time to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
  • Working within a payments processing role within another company.
  •  Any formal qualifications in financial services regulations.
  • Knowledge of financial services (in particular Life & Pension) processes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles, practices and compliance requirements for the UK and Ireland.
  • Experience working within a payments or finance role within a Financial Services company.
