About This Role

Summary of the role:

To liaise and oversight on any Risk / Control issues between the Operations Business areas, 2nd Line Diligenta Risk / Compliance, Pan Account and Lloyds Banking Group (where necessary). To provide effective business risk support to Operational Management and colleagues across Operations and provide support relating to the management and control of risk. The Risk Consultant will be responsible for taking a proactive role in managing risk based activities and establishment of a controlled risk culture across the business.

What you'll be doing:
  • Risk Consultants will work with operational areas and engage and maintain open channels between all audiences for the management of risk and support the respective Senior Management Team in the management of new risks and controls, specifically allocated risks and the visibility of these.
  • Complete effective testing on the agreed key controls to proactively identify current and / or future potential areas of concern, customer detriment or improvement opportunity and work with the control owner to agree any actions from the findings to ensure that any non-effective controls are brought back in to appetite as soon as possible.
  • Proactively oversight driving the clearance of DORAS Action Plans and the framework for Loss Events and breaches on DIMS.
  • Support the operational management areas on the delivery of risk and control activities on DORAS and support any training activities across the business.
  • Enhance risk policy and generic control awareness with colleagues.
  • Investigate and support detailed root-cause analysis and trend analysis for control failures and help identify required remediation activity as appropriate.
  • Ensure the business areas manage their policies, risks and controls with a focus on the delivery of risk related actions to timely closure.
  • Drive improvements to new and existing processes, procedures and systems.
  • Produce MI and reporting packs for internal meetings and external meetings with LBG and attend these meetings to present packs and agree actions to resolve and issues identified.
  • To support the analysts within the team and provide training, oversight and guidance on their daily activities.
  • Support Line 1 Risk Client Lead with the running of the team both in their absence & day to day
  • Support the SIP/Transformation Programmes by providing Line 1 Risk input when required. Attend relevant Business Readiness/Post Implementation meetings & provide sign off where needed.
  • Conduct IA for change requests where required in a timely manner
  • Risk Assessment/Acceptance reviewed, performed & signed off where applicable
What we're looking for:
  • Ability to work with a variety of audiences to display advice that is best for the client (SWL and its customers) and Diligenta
  • Good working knowledge and certification in Risk Assessment, Operational and Conduct Risk Testing
  • Good knowledge of operational processes Working knowledge of Life, Pensions & Investment (LPI) products and regulation
  • Proven ability in using MS Office suite
  • Comfortable interacting with and influencing stakeholders up to Head of Function level.
  • Ability to coach less senior colleagues
  • Ability to analyse risk outcomes and make recommendations to mitigate
