About This Role

Summary of the role

The Specialist Finance Services function is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and transactions within our Client’s organisation. The primary goal of this function is to process payments, receipts and distributions as well as identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors in financial records. This is important for maintaining the reliability of financial information, facilitating proper financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Part of this function is the Diligenta Fund Administration Service. This operation delivers a diverse range of high risk fund administration processes through a small highly specialised Diligenta team. This is a non-core activity for Diligenta.

What you’ll be doing
  • Technically enabled team
  • Efficient operation, measured & evidenced through appropriate MI
  • Status reporting of improving results
  • PLL General ledger is correctly stated and net asset value (NAV) is fully supported and reported  
  • Reconciliation processes are efficient and appropriately controlled.  
  • Asset prices/valuation processes efficient and appropriately controlled and maintained in line with industry practice as appropriate 
  • Dealing processes are efficient and appropriately controlled and maintained in line with industry practice as appropriate
  • Settlement processes are efficient and appropriately controlled and maintained in line with industry practice and counterparty & custodian as appropriate  
  • Corporate action processes are efficient and appropriately controlled and maintained in line with industry practice as appropriate, to maintain corporate action data and identify and process relevant transactions  
  • Accurate, complete and timely production of fund valuations to enable Investment Managers to make sound investment decisions on behalf of policyholders & for surrender/death claim values
  • Accurate, complete and timely operation of Fund taxation processes
  • Monitor Investment Managers fund activities to ensure agreed standards and procedures are being adopted
What we’re looking for
  • Investment Administration Qualification, part qualified accountant or AAT and/or relevant experience (6 years) within an investment administration, valuation/unit pricing and investment accounting environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of investment administration, valuation/unit pricing & investment accounting systems & processes & calculations, including tax calculations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting requirements for life company funds
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry terminology and be able to discuss confidently internally & with 3rd parties
  • Comprehensive knowledge of investment instruments
  • Comprehensive understanding of the roles of 3rd party organisations in the investment administration process
  • Proficiency in MS office applications
  • Proficiency in database interrogation and FTP
