Due to demand and business growth a new opportunity has arose to work as a Systems Technical Consultant within our Aviva account team based in Bristol. It involves working directly with large and complex datasets, using SQL (preferably PL/SQL) to extract, manipulate, and optimise data for reporting and operational purposes. The work plays a key part in supporting business decisions by ensuring accurate and meaningful data is readily available.
You will be part of a collaborative team and will engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand data requirements, support system integrations, and maintain data quality. The position is suited to someone with strong technical skills, a detail-oriented approach, and an interest in further developing their data expertise in a structured environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Designing, writing, and executing robust queries, ideally with PL/SQL but SQL is accepted. To manage, transform, and extract value from large data sets
  • Analysing and reconciling data across multiple systems to support performance improvement and reporting accuracy
  • Engaging with subject matter experts to understand data needs and provide insightful recommendations
  • Supporting data integrity, quality assurance, and security standards across all technical deliverables
  • Contributing to a data-driven culture and helping shape how we use information to support strategic goals
  • (Bonus) Familiarity with VBA and experience working with telephonic data systems would be a great plus
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong technical foundation in SQL or PL/SQL with experience managing and manipulating large datasets
  • 2–3 years in a data analysis, technical support, or similar data-heavy environment
  • Knowledge of tools like SQL Server, MS Access, and VBA is advantageous
  • Self-motivated and articulate — comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Keen interest in learning and progression — whether your next move is toward project management, business analysis, or deeper into data analytics
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks, juggle priorities, and meet deadlines with confidence
